Where to Watch Fireworks this 4th of July

This year’s 4th of July will look a bit different according to Columbia Park and Recreation. Despite the outbreak of COVID-19, Columbia’s fireworks display show will still go on, but will have a different look than years past.

This year the 68th annual 4th of July fireworks celebration will be shot from Cosmo-Bethel Park. While the park will be closed to the public during the celebration, the choreographed fireworks show will be visible for at least a 4-mile radius with fireworks reaching the height of 300-600 feet.

Choreographed fireworks display to music simulcast on BXR 102.3

This show is designed to be enjoyed from your home. All parking areas within the park as well as Gentry Middle School and Rock Bridge High School will be closed to the public from 8 AM - 11 PM on July 4th. The park itself will be closed from July 3rd at 11 PM - July 5th at 6 AM. This is to ensure safety for all guests as these areas are located within the fall-out zone of the firework display.

Organizers of the event ask guests to not park on nearby residential streets or block traffic. They ask that people not gather in large groups to watch the fireworks and they highly encourage social distancing while enjoying the show.
